Dr Neil E Strickman MD of St Lukes Episcopal Hospital / Texas Heart Institute was invited to Manila and Bali to not only enrich the local physicians with up to date
vascular intervention but to also explain how the advancement of non surgical treatment has surpassed surgery in the United States for almost all of Vascular Medicine.
First stop was the Philippine Heart Center in
Manila. He was instrumental in teaching young surgeons how to effectively treat patients without surgery for the same problems that they have routinely operated on before.

Next he flew to Bali, Indonesia to speak at the 13th
Annual Shock and Critical care meeting. Four lectures on new advancements in Peripheral Vascular Disease were given to the local and foreign physicians, nurses and attendees. Lectures included

- Renal Artery Diseases as it relates to Congestive Heart Failure
- Deep Venous Thrombosis
- Heart Attacks: an Update

Dr. Neil E Strickman, Dr. Joeseph Varon and Mr. Enrique Bandala of St Lukes Episcopal Hospital / Texas Heart
Institute were invited on a 3 country medical exposition to enrich the local physicians with up to date medical science as it relates to cardiovascular disease.
First they visited Bangkok. Thailand, Siriraj
Hospital, and Pattaya City. They were instrumental in her Majesty's 38th annual Scientific Heart Association. Live cases were performed whereas lectures included:onclick="openOutWin('')" target="TheNewWin"

Next the group flew to Manila, Philippines to meet with the Houston Medical Group, Philippines Heart Center (PHC) and Cardiovascular
surgeons. Similarly live Peripheral interventions were performed as well as lectures on the Diagnosis and Treatment on Pulmonary and Vascular Disorders. Finally they were whisked off to KL, Malaysia where Cordis J &
J provided Royal hospitality. They were excited about the chance to participate in NHAM (the National Heart Association of Malaysia). |

 The 13th
Annual Conference on Critical Care was again in Kuta, Bali, Indosesia during August 2005. Dr. Neil E. Strickman was invited as one of only four US physicians by Dr. Joseph Varone, a nationally recognized expert
in Critical Care.
During this meeting of Asian physicians and nurses, Dr. Strickman presented such topics as: "Throw away the knife, Carotid Stenting is the only way to treat carotid artery blockages"
