Hall-Garcia Cardiology Associates affiliated with the Texas Heart Institute. Dr. Strickman is an interventional cardiologist at the Texas Heart Institute
with specialization in: balloon angioplasty and Heart Artery Stenting stents for the large of small blood vessels Non-surgical treatment of Abdominal Aortic aneurysm and Carotid artery blockages. He is a former co-director of the non-invasive department of the St.Luke's Episcopal Hospital
(1982-1985). He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine in the heart of the Texas Medical Center. He has been active in not only patient care but also education of medical
students, interns, residents and cardiology fellows since 1982. To his credit is the award for the Outstanding Teacher of the Year at Texas Heart Institute /St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital three times since 1982 Dr. Strickman is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology,
and Interventional Cardiology and He is licensed to practice all of the above in the great state of Texas. Having grown up in the New York area, he completed his undergraduate training at the State University of
New York at Buffalo in 1973. Not only did he excel in Chemistry but graduated with a 3.97 grade point average (out of 4.0) receiving his B.A.with Magna Cum Laude distinction. From there he proceeded to
accumulate honors in Physiology, Pathology, Medicine and Biochemistry and graduated in the top 10 % of his class at the Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York in 1977. During his Cardiology Fellowship
training at the Texas Heart Institute (1980-1982) he served as a Chief Cardiology Fellow and also wrote many publications. Upon finishing his fellowship he joined the Hall-Garcia Cardiology Associates where
today he remains a prominent educator and leader in the most current aspects of cardiovascular technology and medicine. He quite readily enjoys traveling to all parts of the globe teaching fellow Cardiologists about
the newer and more efficient treatment options available for patient's worldwide
Dr. Strickman is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and American College of
Cardiology. He is also a member of the American Heart Association, Heart and Lung Transplant Society, Denton Cooley Surgical Society, Interventional Cardiology Association and Harris County Medical
Society. Being a leader in current technology, he is a licensed instructor in teaching other physicians on ": the Technique of Endovascular Exclusion of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm and Carotid Artery Stenting." He has taken an extremely active role in peripheral vascular disease that entails diagnosing and
treating disorders of the blood vessels involving the legs, arms, and brain. He is still currently instrumental in
bringing new Endovascular Prostheses to the Texas Heart Institute for use in providing patients with long lasting relief from the symptoms of vascular insufficiency who otherwise would have long ago succumbed
to limb amputation .He is the author or co-author of over 100 medical publications
